I know this isn’t a newsflash, but Satan has a longstanding history of lying and deceiving people. The first instance of such behaviors with mankind was in the Garden of Eden, where he successfully promoted doubt and rebellion into the heart of Eve.

When I first came to faith in Christ, I heard that Jesus promised to change those who believe in Him for the better.

Candle wicks are short. If they are not surrounded by wax, they burn up in a matter of seconds. However, when wax surrounds them, they can serve the purpose for which they were designed, and produce hours and hours of light.

Have you ever just camped out with a thought?

You know. Cozied up with it? Sat with it? Blocked everything else out? Just … focused on it?

Here’s a thought that I think you could spend several days with, and not even begin to plumb the depths of its significance:

I’m a big fan of pie (which is why I have to work out so much 😀).

My favorite is peach, although almost any pie will do.

If you are an attorney for a defendant, you call character witnesses.

Why?

Because you want to parade as many witnesses in front of the jury as possible to testify to the good character of your client. Who knows, perhaps they can convince the jury that the accused is not such a bad guy (and maybe even an angel in disguise). J
