Perhaps it’s customary during your family’s Thanksgiving meal to ask each person to share one thing for which they are thankful.
And if this is a tradition in your home, then you know “family”, “health”, and “this meal” are common answers. And while these answers are good, I believe that during our family gatherings we can share some truly wonderful spiritual truths that we thank God for, such as:
• Our Salvation.
• The indwelling Holy Spirit.
• Our adoption into God’s family.
• Having God’s Word, the divinely inspired, inerrant Bible.
• The privilege and gift of prayer.
• Enjoying God’s love that surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:17-19).
• All the promises of God finding their “yes” in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).
• Being God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).
• The “Abundant Life” given to us by God (John 10:10).
• God being on the throne and in control of all things! And that He can do as He pleases.
• Having been blessed “in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Ephesians 1:1-14).
• The Church, who Christ died for (Ephesians 5:25).
• The promise that when we die, we will be with Jesus, the angels, and all the saints for eternity.
Now … I know these monthly BluePrint writings always go one way – from me to you. But this month I want to change that. So, if there are some truly wonderful spiritual truths that you are thankful for, please write me at pastorladonne@bluechurch.org. That way we can praise God together!
Happy Thanks-giving!
