COVID Compass

If the Bible is our Map, Jesus is our Compass. Consider how a compass works. First, it orients you to your location, and the map, and then corrects your heading, or direction, as you make your way.

How does Jesus direct us? Unlike the Pharisees, who micromanaged every move, Jesus knows that worship of God is the very foundation of wisdom (Psalm 111:10). Our heart is what matters, not which car we drive or which school we choose, though wisdom helps with both.

The grand terrain of the Bible becomes manageable with Jesus as our Compass because He always is locating us with that “You are here!” Where? “Between My first and second advent, in the New Covenant, freed from the Law, redeemed from its curse, and led by My Spirit.”

“Now, go and make disciples in my name. Be salt and light and pray for one another. Live so all around you will see you are Mine, and glorify your Father in Heaven.”

But. . . which road shall I take?

“Love Me, love others, and take any road you please. Remember I AM the WAY and as far as Heaven is concerned, you already are good as there. So be wise: You are secure in Me, so be curious, ask questions. Your creativity will enable course corrections, but travel in community.

“And be courageous, confident in the Map. We will reach the Celesial City together. Now, let’s pick up some stragglers to go with us. There are many of them on any of these roads. And, please, stop worrying!”

“Father, help us walk wisely with Jesus’ fellowship and direction. We ask that you reveal more and more of yourself to us and expand our hearts to love you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
