Do you remember when. . .

“We’re all in this together” meant being in the same room?
“Flattening the Curve” implied a weight loss program?
“Hang in there!” meant being patient for a couple of hours?
“Being Safe” was a baseball term?

“Personal Protective Equipment” was worn by firefighters?
“Daily Briefings” were for the President, not by the President?
“Sheltering-in-Place” was what you did during a tornado?
“We’ll get through this!” referred to fog and Christmas?
“Following the science” meant actually following the science?
Masks were not allowed in a bank?
Quarantines were for sick people?
“Corona” was mostly about an eclipse?
“Stimulus Check” was your bill for a double espresso?
“Social Distancing” was just how teens treated their parents?
“Hand Washing” was something you did three or four times a day?
Grocery shoppers didn’t treat one another like lepers?
There was enough toilet paper for everyone?
Only the introverts were always home?
You were allowed to touch your face?
You were allowed to touch someone else’s face?

Times change, words change, cultures change.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8

“Father, we thank your for your unchanging nature. We rest in it as the foundation of all of your promises, and in a rapidly changing world, we take refuge in You, through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.”
