I Desire Mercy

Harvey at home:

Hey Honey, I would like us to increase our monthly giving to the church.

I don’t know Harvey. We would really have to sacrifice to do it.

I know, but it is worth the sacrifice. It is God’s work.

Hey Honey, I am heading to the church after work.

But Harvey, you have been there the last two evenings.

I know, but I want to give as much as I can to The Lord. No point storing up for us treasure on earth.

Harvey at work and speaking to his subordinate:

You are late again!

I’m sorry sir, but my wife is so sick. I had to help her get out of bed.

This is a business! You should hire some medical help for her if she is that bad. If you come in late again tomorrow, you will have plenty of time to be home with her. Understand?!

Harvey on the road:

Get out of my way!

Can you drive any slower?!

If you’re disabled, you should have someone else drive you!

I am going to be late for my meeting!

Harvey at church:

I’ll spearhead the food drive. I will just need some help, because it runs for the next three weekends.

But Harvey, you already are on the Missions Committee and going on the Missions trip.

Don’t worry about it. God will give me the strength and make a way.

Harvey at home again:

But dad, I got a B. I know you wanted me to get an A, but does that really mean I can’t go on the school trip? I really tried.

That’s right young lady. Maybe you will think twice about how you are applying yourself to your studies in the future. If you really tried, I would be looking at an A.

But dad, you never told me that my trip could be canceled!

I don’t have to tell you. I’m the dad. One more word out of you, and you will be grounded as well!
