Sabbath Jubilee 2.0

On this, Day 101 of the Blue Box Blog, we proclaim Jubilee 2.0!

When Israel entered the Promised Land, the Lord commanded them to rest one day in seven, and one year in seven, with a Jubilee Year at the end of the seventh seven. You can read about it in Leviticus 25.

So we are resting too, and invite you to think about this: What would it be like if we took our rest as seriously as we take our work and our play? Maybe we would be less stressed, and maybe we would get along better with one another. Maybe we would even feel more energized as we work and play.

One more thing. On the one hand, all inactivity is not rest, and on the other, this rest is active. We truly rest only when we purposefully cease from our own efforts and willingly repose, by faith, in Jesus. It is soul-rest and restoration (Psalm 23:3), spiritual R&R. Here is the invitation, from His heart to yours:

Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
